This product is designed to last a lifetime and work with virtually any standard SCT/MC telescope. Note that your telescope must have a standard male SCT thread which is a 2"/24 TPI thread.

Excellent focuser for the money
Pros:Easy to Use,Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:The William Optics 2" Dual Speed SCT Focuser with DDG is an excellent buy for the money. I use it on a C-11 for astroimaging with a DSLR and like how sturdy it is, the digital focusing, and ability to reorient the camera to position the object. The focuser is easy on and off the telescope. I have had no problems and am extremely pleased with my purchase.

Comments:I had problems getting my pictures in focus with a CCD camera and a C8 telescope. This focuser completely solved every problem but one. One problem is that the knob on the C8 is extremely touchy. If you turn it the smallest amount that you can possibly turn it you might turn it too far. Then to go back you have hysteresis - meaning you have to turn a considerable amount before it starts to change again. In addition, the mirror turns when you reverse direction and the image shifts on the CCD. These problems disappear with the WO focuser. In addition the digital readout is magnificent. It goes from 0 to 30 mm giving a readout of 0.01 mm. I set it to 15.0 and focus with the C8 focus knob and using a low power eyepiece. Then I have written down the exact setting for the WO focuser (for example 12.78) and I move it to 12.78 and replace the eyepiece with the camera and then it is almost perfectly in focus. I have written down different settings for different cameras with and without the Powermate and with and without filters. When it takes 10 seconds to download a picture you don't want to try too many times getting in focus.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
Now the problem that this focuser did not solve was how to determine when you are in focus. I solved that problem with a Bahtinov mask.
This focuser is probably overkill for a C8. It really changes the weight and balance so I need to add counterweights to use it. I bought a microfocuser for my C8 and am trying to wean myself off of this focuser.
I would recommend this focuser if you have a larger telescope, like a C14 or maybe C11. There is no reason to pay more because this focuser is perfect. There are more expensive focusers that don't even have a digital readout. Don't pay more, get this one (but get a Bahtinov mask first).This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
