Starry Night
Pros:Packed full of great images and features; A useful tool for planning your observing sessions

Comments:Starry Night is a very good software for a lot of reasons, and I don't think it matters which version you decide to use. They are all fairly accurate in showing a live view of the night skies, and help tremendously in plotting planets, satellites, comets, and asteroids. I use Starry Night to plan observing sessions, track satellites, and to sometimes print out usable star charts. I would recommend Starry Night software to everyone that owns a telescope or binoculars.

Starry Night Enthusiast 6 has provided me with tons of information and the extra modules available, which I also bought, are really great features. I would have to say that for someone like me who doesn't even know the names of more than 2 or 3 stars and the visible planets, I would be lost without this.
Right before I head out in the night, I start up my Starry Night Software, take a few minutes to snoop around, then go outside and voila! I have been able to print star charts and even a things-to-do list which is nice.
I believe I paid about $80 for the digital download, which is the same program, with the 8 new modules. You should check the program out at Starry Night website. This version also make a great game! I zoom around in the space-ship going from planet to planet - it doesn't work when trying to orbit a star though - but i tried :-)
Using this version 6 you cannot insert your astro gear though. You will need the pro version to do that which I also have. There is no spaceship mode though on the pro version 4.5.2.Sort by
