Tele Vue Dovetail for Quick Release Bracket # QRD-1006

Ok. I have a 9.25 SCT with a dovetail for my telrad and starsense. I was looking for a way to convert the televue sol-searcher to this same dovetail connection and this is perfect. It is heavy solid aluminum and It has two threaded holes with match the holes in the base of the sol-searcher and the screws which came with the sol-searcher threaded right into them perfectly. It has a screw stop for inserting and positioning it into the sliding clamp repeatably. Now switching between the sun, finder, and star sense is as simple as can be and with good repeatability very pleased with this adapter. It is exactly what I was looking for and couldn’t work any better. Very pleased. Highly recommended to anyone in a similar situation.

5.0 Not quite what it's for, but...

This is usually used with Tele Vue Sol-Finder product, but I am going to epoxy the mount for an old Celestron 6x30mm finder to it so the finder can be used on any of my telescopes. They all have finder mounts that are compatible with the Tele Vue-sized dovetail. I do have another one of these that is used with a Sol-Finder.

4.0 Perfect solution for the Sol-Searcher!

Strong Construction

I purchased this to use with a Tele Vue Sol-Searcher Solar Finder, so that it can easily be mounted to the very common Vixen/Synta finder mounts found on many commercial scopes. The aluminum alloy used to make this dovetail is incredibly dense! I gave it only 4 stars because it's a tad too large to fit every finder base out there. This is my 2nd Tele Vue QRD-1006 dovetail, and I had to file both to fit; especially for an SCT style finder base. Definitely worth the effort though!
