Handy little device for terrestrial viewing!
Pros:Good images in daylight; Decent quality
Cons:Not really intended for night use
Comments:I ordered my Correct Image Diagonal at the same time that I ordered a 100mm f/6 OTA for a trip to Australia. I normally don't care for these devices, but for its intended purpose (allowing the scope to be used as a large "spotting" scope during the daylight), it more than did the job! This combination (used on a medium duty camera tripod) made an excellent "spotter", and doubled the duty of my telescope!
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
A useful item if you are traveling with your small scope!Jun 30, 2007Low quality...for daylight use only
Pros:Works okay, usually free with scope
Cons:Poor quality housing and coatings, daylight use only
Comments:This is basically the same as the Celestron 45-degree prism. The Orion brand has a poor quality housing and can have problems with the coatings on occasion, but since these prisms usually come free with a scope, then use it for daylight viewing if you want. These prisms are not really intended for night sky viewing.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? No
They work okay, but I would not buy one new....get a used one instead and save yourself some money.Sort by
