The world standard in telescope oculars, Meade Series 4000 eyepieces yield the widest possible fields of view, consistent with pinpoint edge-of-field sharpness and long eye relief - and yet with extremely low astigmatism, spherical aberration, and off-axis color. Incorporating 7-layer multi-coatings and edge-blackened optics for optimum image contrast, these sophisticated 4 to 8-element designs permit levels of optical performance generally impossible to achieve with eyepieces of fewer elements. All Series 4000 eyepieces include a soft rubber eyeguard, custom fitted to each eyepiece with a bayonet mount. The eyeguards fold down for eyeglass wearers, and in fact the folded eyeguard shields eyeglasses from coming into contact with the metal eyepiece housings. Rubber grips are provided on all but the three shortest focal length Super Plossl eyepieces.
Designed to utilize the very latest in optical glass types, Meade 4-element Super Plossls are excellent general-purpose eyepieces. For observing hairline lunar and planetary detail, splitting close double stars, or for resolving faint nebulosity in deep-space, Meade Super Plossls optimize the performance of any telescope type, whether it is a f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain, f/16 refractor, or f/4 reflector!

Meade 32mm Super Plossl eyepiece
Pros: Cons: Comments:This eyepiece shines. Excellent images of stars and terrestrial objects. Clear and crisp. I have it in my Meade Adventure Scope 80. Everything considered, as this eyepiece is only one link in the chain of collecting light, it's more than satisfactory. And the included bolt type case is a plus. Thanks Agena Astro.

Pros:Excellent workhorse,Decent price
Cons:Better 32mm eyepieces
Comments:This large eyepiece is a very good "workhorse" eyepiece. While not the best 32mm eyepiece on today's market, it will give decent views at an acceptable price. While not of the same quality as a Televue, it's an eyepiece that one can use at star parties when others are viewing through your scope and may touch the glass, even when asking them not to touch. Its stats are: barrel size 1.25", 4 elements, eye relief 13mm, field of view (FOV) approx. 49 degrees. Fully multi-coated on all glass surfaces, this workhorse does the job. I had purchased this line completely until I could buy the Televue line of plossls.
