Manufacturer Description

Meade Closeout Special!

Meade has just discontinued this item. We purchased Meade's entire remaining inventory at a great closeout price and are passing our savings on to you. Get this for about 40% off the regular retail price while supplies last.

The Meade #124 2x Short-Focus Barlow Lens (1.25") #07272 is a compact "shorty" type barlow that doubles the magnification of your 1.25" eyepiece while offering very good image quality. It features multi-coated optics and doubles the power of any 1.25" eyepiece without adding a very long extension between the telescope and the eyepiece. Insert this into the telescope's eyepiece holder first, and then insert your eyepiece into the barlow.

This barlow may also be used in a diagonal mirror either between the diagonal and eyepiece for a 2x magnification factor or between the eyepiece holder and diagonal for a magnification of approximately 3x. It is compatible with nearly any telescope which uses 1.25" eyepieces regardless of brand and even those with limited focus range.

Item weighs 2.7oz and comes with one (lower) end cap.

Product carries full one year Meade factory limited warranty (within US/Canada only).

4.0 It's pretty much the only choice.

      Pros:

      Strong Construction,Compact

      Cons:

      Comments:

This is pretty much the only choice for reticle eyepieces and for finder scopes. And it is only available here. I did purchase another brand a while back that had a flashing feature but it was big, bulky, and broke after first use.

It would be nice for these things to turn off automatically after a few hours of non use. I just can't seem to remember to turn them off and I'm always replacing batteries.
