      4.0 Galileo G-102MD2 120mm/1000mm FL

Light weight, tracks very well, easy setup, nice accessories

Lock bolts unscrew, slight mount and focuser wobble

Yeah, this might not be one of the best known name telescopes around, but I will share my thoughts on how this Galileo G-102MD2 preformed. For its size, completely put together, I could pick this up with one hand. It's very easy to put together and also has some nice extras included. For a 4.1" 1/4 wave primary, it does show very good detail on planets and some deep space objects but really doesn't take in a whole lot of light. Its smaller secondary is just the right size for CCD imaging using what I did, a webcam. The 1.25" focuser worked very well with just a tiny bit of focus slack. Also has a multi-coated lens inside the focuser.

It holds its collimation very well, which I didn't have to touch even right out of the box. It also comes with a 1.25" color filter wheel with two 1.25" filters, a nebula filter, a dark yellow filter and an empty spot. Also comes with a pretty good 1.25" 20mm and a 1.25" 6.8mm to 21mm zoom EP with a good FOV. The hand controller takes 4 AA batteries and both drives work very well for a telescope of this price. From time to time, the lock bolts on both axis do need to be re-tightened, but this is not a big issue though. The mars red dot finder also works great and only needs adjustment once!
