Manufacturer Description
The Telrad Dew Shield helps keep condensation from forming on the glass plate of your Telrad. It attaches to the back of the Telrad unit on hinges using existing screws, and swivels into place to shield the combining glass slowing dew condensation. The Dew Shield Plus offers the same protection but with a bonus. Inside the Dew Shield Plus is a mirror. When the shield is rotated completely backwards, the mirror acts as a right angle viewing device, letting you see the reticle in the sky without bending over the telescope or twisting your neck.

Telrad Dew Shield Plus
Pros: Cons: Comments:Shield performs as it should, however the gauge of the plastic could be a little thicker. My first unit broke at the mounting lugs, however Agena did a fast turn around with a replacement....no questions asked. First rate service.....and my new source for astronomy equipment.

Pros: Cons: Comments:agena astro are great shipped it the day of ordering.. the shield works . stops dew forming on the glass of the telrad but the shield gets in the way a little if pulled all the way back to fully open on my 6" sct i mounted the telrad directly on top of the scope and my head bumps the shield when looking through the eyepiece on the scope when the shield is fully open when aligning the goto mount.. i just have to remember to close the shield before looking through the eyepiece the mirror is handy when looking at zenith it saves the back and neck i use a telrad and finderscope combination which makes for a very quick and accurate and faultless alignment process
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
the shield is a little short at the front it would be nice when closed that the shield sat on the long deck on top of the telrad as it sits up a little and leaves a tiny gap that dew can form at the base of the glass of the telrad`s heads up display but is very minor
i would definitely recommend this product if you have a telrad as the glass on the telrad dews up a lot/ very easily and using the shield stops 95% of the dew forming on the glass (h.u.d) if you dont have one then its game over for the night the shield also protects the glass on the telrad from a knock and in transport to your dark sky site and from dust if you leave your scope set up while not in use like i do the product has 2 very minor issues head bump and tiny gap at base of glass but well worth the money and works great it should come as a standard issue on all telrads it works that good for protection and dew control
would i buy this shield again ?? YES most definitely well worth the cash

Pros: Cons: Comments:Great product but I had to file off the top plastic corners off the Telrad beamsplitter holder so the dew shield could rotate into position.

Pros: Cons: Comments:Works very at keeping dew away and the right viewing is great on on a short scope like my 8 in dob. Only complaint is the price which is 3/4 of the Telrad itself which is not agenas fault. They have the best price because it includes shipping
