Bushnell 10 x 50 Binoculars
Pros:Cheap if you can find them
Cons:Not good for astronomy use at all; older pairs will probably be worn
Comments:These early binoculars are now discontinued, but are available on the used market from time to time. A friend of mine owns these and let me borrow them last night. He has all the paperwork as he bought them new many years ago. Stats: BK7 prisms, FOV 6.0 degrees, eye relief 16mm and the weight is around 30 ozs.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? No
These binoculars are just ok. The central 50% of the FOV is all you can use and the rest of the field is poor and makes the star look like sea gulls. This pair has no tripod adapter hookup and the coating, if any, is worn away. If you buy them, they will be ok for daylight use only and are not recommended for nighttime use. Cost on the used market is around $25.00.Jan 21, 2007Excellent product
Pros:Very good
Cons:None yet
Comments:I have used my friends Bushnell 10X50 binoculars several times. Its performance is extraordinary for the 10X50 category. It is ideal for Lunar craters, Star clusters, and even for Jupiter. It is a good product and I would recommend this.
