      5.0 Front to back goodness!

A nice little book to own

As much time as I like to spend viewing the night sky I spend even more time researching and reading. And I'm always on the look out for good, affordable books on the subject.

Searching through the bargain section of a local, major bookstore I found this little gem tucked away for about 5 bucks. Upon closer inspection I quickly realized it was coming home with me.

Published in 2006 its got great information and photos including Cassini shots and of course Hubble views. Also loaded with very useful and detailed information.

Covering a broad range of celestial phenomena this guide truly covers all the bases. All the major players from the solar system are covered of course, and then on to asteroids, meteors, stars, constellations, nebulae, galaxies, and on to the universe in general. Clocking in around 250 pages it gets the job done very well.

The construction of the book is nice though I did notice the gold printing of the title along the spine began to wear off a bit from my readings, but that's a good sign that its getting some good usage.

Author John Duncan did a good job with this "pocket guide". A fun and handy book to have close at hand. As advertised on the back: "Informative, authoritative, and accessible.." and they aren't joking. Recommended.
